I'm in the process of buying a new car stereo and speakers, but I also want to soundproof the doors. I was told it's pretty expensive to get done, so I haven't looked into a professional installation; instead, my dad and I will do it ourselves (he has a friend who did it, so we can ask him). However, the Dynamat stuff on Crutchfield costs up to $90 depending on which type you get and how much (soundproof speaker vs. soundproof door).
So, is it better to get a professional installation?
And if it's okay to do it ourselves, should we just soundproof the speaker enclosures or the entire doors?
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
